Woodworking trades' construction training is the joint vocational training for three woodworking trades. In the main course you choose to specialize as a carpenter, floor layer or thatcher. The training alternates between school and apprenticeship in a company.

§What do you do in everyday life?

You work with wood and building materials using both traditional techniques and modern methods. The daily routine offers everything from new construction to renovation and repair, where you measure, assemble structures and work with customers and other tradespeople on the building site.

  • 01You learn to build roof, wall, and facade constructions in wood.
  • 02You learn to read and work according to technical drawings.
  • 03You learn to calculate and order materials correctly.
  • 04You learn to lay floors or thatch roofs, depending on your specialty.
  • 05You learn to use hand tools and machines safely and precisely.

§How do you get started?

You start with the basic course (GF1 and GF2 at approximately half a year each) and then continue on the main course, which is primarily conducted as an apprenticeship in a company. During practice periods you get apprentice wages (apprenticeship wages) according to the collective agreement.

§The way forward

As fully trained you can work in carpentry flooring or thatching companies become an independent master or study further to for example building constructor. You can also take the education as EUX and thus gain access to further education.
