One of airport work's strengths is breadth. The work around an aircraft spans from loading baggage to receiving passengers and standing ready with fire and rescue. This means you can specialise in many different directions.
§Ground handling and ramp
A central direction is work around the plane on the ground: receiving and guiding the plane, unloading and loading baggage and goods, preparing for departure and sending the plane off. Here you are in the pulse of the airport, work with large vehicles and are part of the team that gets the plane in the air on time. It requires physics, cooperation and safety sense.

Another direction is about getting baggage and cargo to the right place: receiving, sorting, loading and keeping track of it ending up in the right plane. A piece of baggage that ends up wrong is a problem for a traveller; cargo that is handled wrong can be a safety issue. Here, overview and care are the key.
§Passenger service and service at the airport
A third direction is contact with passengers: helping travelers get oriented, directing and solving problems often under time pressure and with people who are stressed or delayed. Here calm demeanor, language and service are crucial. It is the trade for the person who can handle both systems and meet people.
