How to work it out
- 115:45 − 07:15 = 8 h 30 min
- 2− 30 min break = 8 h 0 min
- 38 h 0 min = 8 = 8 hDivide the minutes by 60 — not by 100 — when the hours are to be written as a decimal.
The formula
1 h = 60 min · 1 day = 24 h
Time is counted in 60s and 24s, not in 10s.
0,25 t = 15 min · 0,5 t = 30 min · 0,75 t = 45 min
Timesheets are often written in decimals. 7 h 30 min is 7.5 h — not 7.3.
quarter = 15 min · nearest: 0–7 min down, 8–14 min up
To the nearest quarter, 7 min and below is rounded down and 8 min and above is rounded up.
amount = hours (decimal) · hourly wage
