Vacuum pump for laminatingUsed for vacuum moulding of prosthetic and orthotic shells, where the laminate is drawn tight against the plaster model to remove air pockets and achieve a uniform, strong shell.
Materials
Plaster bandageUsed to take negative casts of body parts (e.g. a foot or residual limb), which then form the basis for positive plaster models for prostheses, orthoses and insoles.
Thermoplastic sheetUsed as shell material for orthoses and splints, where the sheet is heat-formed directly on the plaster model or patient for a precise fit.
EVA foam (sheet material)Used to make foot orthoses and pressure-relieving padding, where the foam is cut and ground to the anatomy of the individual foot.
Carbon fibre and laminating materialUsed to make strong, lightweight prosthetic and orthotic shells, where laminate is built up over a plaster model.
Leather (vegetable-tanned)Used for straps, padding, footwear parts and orthopaedic covering details, where the leather's formability and durability are put to use.
