§ 10.1 — Documentation
Sources & credits
Each trade is built on published specialist literature, Danish standards, legislation and sector guidance. The content is reformulated and structured for web format — quotations and tables are used for educational purposes with source attribution. The specific figures are cited directly on each calculator and article; below are the sources gathered.
Standards & legislation per trade
- Electrician — DS/HD 60364 series (DS Handbook 183:2026, published annually); Installation Order (BEK 1082/2016); Electrical Safety Act (LBK 57/2026); authorisation (BEK 722/2024) and QMS (BEK 725/2024); Common Regulations 2026; Danish Business Authority (formerly the Danish Safety Authority, sik.dk).
- VVS — DS 439:2024 (water standard); DS 469 (heating systems); authorisation scheme; Statens Serum Institut / Environmental Protection Agency (legionella).
- Carpenter — Eurocode 5 (DS/EN 1995-1-1 and fire 1995-1-2); BR18 (§ 257 component minimum requirements and § 259 ff. energy frame); EN ISO 6946.
- Bricklayer — Eurocode 6 (DS/EN 1996-1-1 + Danish national annex); BR18 chap. 15; Aalborg Portland (cement/mortar).
- Scaffolding — DS/EN 12811-1 (work permits); Danish Labour Authority regulations and AT guidance.
- Cleaning — DS/INSTA 800 (cleaning quality measurement); supplier safety data sheets.
- Gardener — Standards for Landscape Gardening Work (NfA); plant quality standards.
- Truck — Danish Labour Authority certification requirements; EN 1726 / ISO 3691 (forklift); BFA Transport, Service, Turisme & Jord til Bord.
- Truck & bus — Dimension Regulation (BEK 1447/2025); driving and rest time (Regulation (EC) 561/2006); tachograph (Regulation (EU) 165/2014); load securing (DS/EN 12195); Driver CPC training/code 95 (Directive (EU) 2022/2561); Danish Road Authority.
The standards (DS/EN) are owned by Danish Standard and can be purchased via ds.dk; regulations and laws are freely available at retsinformation.dk. Excerpts are used for educational purposes with source attribution.
The trades' study material
De 120 subjects, educations and courses each build on their own professional foundation: the official education ordinances and competence objectives, UddannelsesGuiden (ug.dk) and STIL (Agency for Digital Government and Education), the professions' specialist committees and vocational schools (e.g. AMU centres and Hansenberg), and the public materials of individual producers and suppliers. Study materials, calculators and product range for each education programme are structured and reformatted to web format with source attribution on each page.
The trade portraits in Junior
The junior zone tells children in primary school what a trade is about. Every number on a portrait page — how long the programme takes and whether there are jobs afterwards — has its source directly beneath it on the page itself. Here the basis is gathered in one place.
- UddannelsesGuiden (ug.dk) — the duration of the programmes, retrieved one by one per programme in August 2026. UddannelsesGuiden is run by the Agency for IT and Learning under the Ministry of Education.
- Transporterhvervets Uddannelser (TUR) — duration and step structure for the transport trades, where the programme is divided into steps rather than one course.
- Construction's Educations — the scaffolder programme. It is an industry programme agreed between 3F and the Confederation of Danish Industry, not a vocational programme, and therefore does not fall under UddannelsesGuiden's VET list.
- Arbejdsmarkedsbalancen (STAR) — job prospects per trade. The Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment assesses twice a year whether there is a labour shortage within each job title; the portrait page shows STAR's own category and which job it applies to.
Overenskomsterne — apprentice pay per trade. Each rate has been read in the collective agreement's own clause, not on a pay portal: the Insulation, Building and Construction, Building, Bricklayer, Service and Landscape Gardener agreements as well as the apprentice agreement for road transport (all 3F and DI), and the Electrician and Plumbing agreement (TEKNIQ). The rates took effect on 1 March 2026 and are adjusted on 1 March 2027 — every pay figure on the site carries that date, so a reader can see when it needs rechecking.
Two things are said out loud about the pay figures. The collective agreement's rate is a floor, not a wage: in the building trades people work on piece rates, and a journeyman earns noticeably more — which is why it says «at least». And one trade can be covered by several agreements; the figures are from the largest agreements, so an apprentice in a smaller employers' association may have other rates. Pay as a newly qualified worker is UddannelsesGuiden's «typical pay for the newly qualified»: median monthly income including employer-paid pension, measured in the second year after completion.
Teaching material (insulation)
The insulation subject was the first fully worked-through subject on the platform. The crediting is shown here as one example of how each subject is built — not as a template the others copy.
- Preben Kristensen — teaches at AMU Syd Kolding. Main source for the practical sections on mineral wool, elastomeric foam, metal jacketing, pillow sewing and fire insulation. The compendiums were prepared for Undervisningsministeriet (2011–2025).
- BAI — the continuing-education committee for construction/civil engineering and industry: Technical Insulation — Trade calculation (Ministry of Education, October 2024). The geometry formulas in all templates (bends, reductions, tee pieces, metal jacketing, transitions) are taken from here.
- AMU SYD's teaching playlist on YouTube — video constructions embedded on the template pages. All rights to the videos belong to AMU SYD and their teachers; they are embedded with credit, and each page links to the original on YouTube.
