The institutions, your municipality and the big jobs — with figures from BBR

2026-10-06·4 min reading

Schools, day care centres, nursing homes, hospitals and large office buildings: here the cleaning technician's workplaces are shown with figures from the Building and Housing Register (BBR). See how many there are, where they are, and what the figures do not tell you.

Introduction

How many schools, day-care institutions and nursing homes are there actually to clean? The graphs here take the figures from the Building and Housing Register (BBR) and are updated every night.

The institutions

The graph shows the institutional buildings by type. Notice which type has the most buildings and how few hospitals there are compared with schools and day-care institutions.

Nursing homes are called «døgninstitution» (residential institution) in BBR (use code 160) and are listed under housing. That is why they have been added here.

Your municipality

How many schools, day-care institutions, nursing homes and hospitals are there in your municipality? That is the local labour market for cleaning. Find your own municipality and compare it with the neighbouring municipality.
